When Anna came to us, it was because she had lost a lot of hair due to an inherited autoimmune disease that had caused her hair follicles to become inflamed to the point that they died. It even gave her severe problems with itching of the scalp. She had tried several medications and cortisone, but nothing helped against the itching, and the hair loss only became more and more intense. On her mother's recommendations, she came to the Nordic Hair Clinic to test PRP.

Anna suffers from a sickness which creates an inflammation of the hair follicles. The hair follicles then release the hair into self-preservation and, if the inflammation lasts long enough, the hair follicles eventually die. She had gotten very thin hair and an intense itch tormented her.

“With every PRP treatment, it's gotten better and better”

“I have tried just about everything that can be tested to relieve itching — taking medication, taking cortisone — without it having any effect. My hair just got thinner and thinner. My mother went here for treatments because she has the same problem as me, that she gets inflammation of the scalp and gets female light hair lossAnna says.

PRP reduced the excruciating itch

After his first PRP treatment for the hair reduced the itching of her scalp instantly. At the same time, it relieved the inflammation and her hair was given a chance to start growing again. it also slows down hair loss then it stimulates the hair follicles

I was very thin when I came here. My hair was almost gone. I did 3 treatments and then I came here for follow-up 10 weeks after my third treatment and by then all the hair had almost come back.

After the recommended PRP treatment, we always book a return visit for our patients. The feedback takes place about 10 weeks afterwards. Then the PRP has reached its full effect and you can see what results have been obtained and whether the patient may need to supplement with more treatments or not.

PRP treatment gives scalp greater healing power

PRP does not cure Anna's inflammation of the scalp, but it reduces itching and helps the body heal it. PRP is also not a permanent solution against Anna's autoimmune disease. It helps the inflammation go down, but sometimes it flares up again and then Anna has to go for another PRP treatment.

“The PRP treatment reduced the inflammation on my scalp all at once. With each PRP treatment, it has gotten better and better and the positive effect lasts longer and longer. Now I've been on PRP treatment for a while and it never gets as bad as it was. Now when I get home I will be able to go to bed and sleep on my pillow without it itching. If I have a period when my scalp is very inflamed, it does not last as long, but since I have maintained it with PRP it has gradually gotten better and better,” says Anna.

“Then the question is whether it can cure an autoimmune disease — no maybe not. But it helps against the pain. Then I do a lot of other stuff to feel as good as possible, trying to heal the body from the inside out. The more healthy one is, the easier it is for the body to heal. It's not like I'm going to get well because I'm doing a hair treatment. But I feel that it helps me the itch right away and I definitely would have been bald by now if I hadn't started going on treatment when this inflammation set in.

Stress contributed to Anna losing hair

The stress losing a lot of hair made Anna feel even worse from her illness and the fact that PRP works so well against itching makes her everyday life a lot easier. This allows Anna to find peace of mind that she knows that it will resolve when the inflammation has a reprieve.

“It's enough to feel bad, it's hard if you get bald too. I promote this rock hard every time I talk to someone. PRP treatment has helped me so much,” says Anna.
