Solutions to hair loss
There are several different options when it comes to counteract hair loss or get thin hair to grow better. Should the hair be gone completely a hair transplant is offered.
If a person has lost too much hair or wants to reduce an existing hairline a hair transplant is required.
The hairs that are transplanted are genetically coded to not fall out, which results in the transplanted hairs growing forever.
A hair transplant is therefore a permanent treatment for additional hair loss. It is a treatment that involves transplanting hair, not curing hair loss.
If the hair has become thin or grows less, it can be treated with PRP (growth factors from the blood)
The treatments consist of extracting concentrated growth factors and injecting it directly into areas in need of healing and stimuli. When the growth factors are injected into the tired follicles a large amount of positive reactions start in the skin where the stem cells receive signals about increasing the production of hair cells, which results in increased building blocks to each hair. PRP also creates formation of additional small blood vessels in connection to the area and assists with additional nutrients.
As a complement to PRP treatment or a hair transplant, there are a few drugs to use.
There are currently only two approved medications – finasteride and minoxidil. They work on 70 percent of the patients but unfortunately have a number of side effects, which means that the person has to be careful at the beginning when testing the drug.
There are no alternatives to treating hair growth problems
Many companies sell products that do not work. There is no shampoo that can penetrate the skin and stimulate hair growth. However, a good shampoo can make the hair that has already grown out to stay well.
