An old scar in the donor made us extract hair from the chest
Peter, 54 years old
Peter underwent a hair transplant because he wanted to look more like himself for one of his children’s weddings. For his hair transplant, he also chose to invest in PRP treatments to speed up the results. What hampered Peter’s hair transplant was that he had undergone a hair transplant earlier, and then with the FUT method, which had yielded a negative result. To correct the former hair transplant, we performed a body hair transplant on Peter.
“I underwent a hair transplant many years ago, but it was using an old technique and it healed badly. Over the years I just continued to lose hair. My daughter tipped me off about coming here. I met Maggie during a consultation and we went through what could be done with my hair and what results I could get,” says Peter.

Scars in the donor area from an old transplant method
At the consultation we investigated Peter’s hair and found that it was not possible to take as many grafts out of the neck as we would normally need to cover the desired area. At the same time, we also wanted to keep enough hair on the neck so that Peter could still cover the scar. The previous hair transplant had left a scar in the donor area that stretched over the neck, which is typical for the FUT method.
In a hair transplant using the FUT method, or the strip method as it is also called, a skin graft is cut out of the neck and grafts are cut out of the skin strip and moved to the transplant area. Nordic Hair Clinic does not work with the FUT method because it leaves a scar in the donor area. Our goal is always for the patient to get a natural result.

The operation was completed with a body hair transplant
“I didn’t have much hair left in the neck after the last operation. We concluded that I had thick enough hair on the chest to complete a body hair transplant,” Peter says.
During a body hair transplant, the hair technician drills around each hair follicle on the chest and then moves the hair follicle to the transplant area on the head. Unlike the FUT method, the FUE method does not leave scars. The hair from the chest acts the same as when hair is taken from the neck. It is genetically coded not to fall off and, once the hair follicles have grown into the scalp, the hair follicles continue to produce a growing hair like normal.

PRP treatment to accelerate results
The operation was very successful and went smoothly. In order to get the most rapid results, Peter invested in 2 extra PRP treatments as well as the 3 treatments that are included in the price when having a hair transplant at one of our clinics in Sweden. It has really paid off in Peter’s case. Already, after 4 months his hair has grown out considerably. He has also treated the scar on the neck with PRP to reduce the size of it, which has worked excellently.
“Healing has gone very well. No problems. PRP has helped the hair grow faster. It looks great already after 4 months and it will only get better. I look forward to that,” says Peter.
