Disorders of the thyroid gland

The thyroid gland is a hormone-producing gland located at the front of the throat. The role of the gland is to control some important functions of the body, such as metabolism, heat production and heart rate.

Thyroid problems affect women more than men and can have a major impact on hair and lead to female pattern baldness.

Thyroid problems often appear in middle age or after pregnancy.

The thyroid gland is controlled by the hormones TSH, T4 and T3. To determine whether the client has an excess or an underproduction of thyroid hormones, a blood test is taken.

We can do this on-site at one of our clinics and you will receive an answer within a few days of the blood sample being taken.
